This set of two soap boxes and two soap saver pouches have drastically changed my bathroom routine!!
Since switching to an almost-all bar soap bath routine, I have been on the search for the perfect soap dish.
Even more recently, I been on the search for a good soap saver bag to put my little pieces of soap in after it turns into little scraps.
This collection of dishes and pouches are perfect for the plastic-free transition in your hygiene-routine!
The containers are made of plastic and bamboo, so although not a plastic-free item, it’s still great for a sustainable lifestyle swap. Plus, if you’re here, you already know that bars of soap are more waste-free than plastic bottles, so good on you for being eco-conscious!
The soap saver pouches are made of cotton fabric, and have an adjustable wooden clasp to open/shut the pouches when needed. These pouches are an excellent exfoliant tool! As someone who struggles with finding exfoliant items, this is an amazing find that I am never going without!! It’s wonderful because you are already using a product you already have, the soap, and putting it in a little sleeve-like compartment that can exfoliate everything and everything!! Some people even use these for washing dishes because they are so versatile.
In-between uses, I set the soap savers in a dry spot so the soap doesn’t wash out of the bag from exposure to water. But again, it takes the exfoliant game to the next level, while also saving money and product!

When purchasing this product, I loved that it came with two sets of items, along with the combination of soap saver pouches and soap dishes. I have been relentlessly on the hunt for a good soap dish that allows for drainage while being functional, because as you may know, using soap bars in the shower can be a mess when water sits on the soap! So I was on the hunt for good function, and to invest in some pouches.
This bundle caught my eye because I love the grid of bamboo wood that sits in the dish, along with the minimalist design. Another factor was that I could get the one package, and be set to take one off to college while leaving the other at home. Design & function are big factors for me!
Here’s the two main issues I have with this specific product:
#1: The dish does not drain as well as I had hoped.
I thought since the dish had slits in the sides that the water would run out of it easily, but that is not the case. The water still collects at the bottom, but the bamboo grid does keep the soap from standing in water. So, the water does not completely drain through, but your bar of soap is elevated out of the water instead.
#2: The packaging could have contained less plastic materials!
This is ultra-nitpicky of myself, but I want to include this! The package arrived safe & sound, and even had its own little cardboard box, but each item was wrapped in a thin plastic baggie, which I thought was unnecessary. I know with newer safety-protocols and such, this might be the “safer” option, but all it looked like to me was extra packaging that didn’t need to be there. Instead of four tiny plastic bags wrapping each individual item, I would have loved to see maybe the soap dishes wrapped together between washi-paper or a paper wrap, and the soap pouches could have been wrapped separately too. Just something to think about for future packing materials and plastic reduction! Either way, I kept the box to be reused.
This product is still excellent in my books, that’s why it’s first on my product recommendation list!
